arvin's notebook

i'm a second year aerospace student in iit kharagpur. rp hall. i my hobby is makning websites... the institute is a perfect place for that.

other than that, i hope to get into aeromodelling sometime soon. hopefully this blog will be something like a record of life in iit kgp.

or maybe i'll put links here when i make stuff. what kind of stuff? that's as varied as the sites i'm gonna write about... web pages, perhaps... maybe java games... or some art... or writing. dunno.

Windows Server 2003

installed windows server 2003. mixed bag.

but first: midsems ended well for me. :-)

server 2003 is really fast. maybe it's because it's a clean install and doesn't have any startup programs or anything, but it is seriously fast.

on the downside it's seriously not recommended for desktop use. you have to enable services before u can get going... like, windows audio is disabled by default. and graphics hardware acceleration is none by default. the biggest problem is that programs made for windows xp don't install... got to find a workaround for this soon.
